CPI, Year-on-Year The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in Quezon province for the month of July 2022 was posted at 114.1 index points. The CPI increased by 6.9 index points from last year’s figure of 107.2. CPI by Commodity Group, Year-on-Year Alcoholic beverages and tobacco showed the highest CPI (167.4 index points) among the commodity groups. The group of financial services followed with 145.4 index points. Information and communication registered the least CPI of 100.4 index points followed by recreation, sport and culture with 101.1 index points. Inflation Rate, Year-on-Year The inflation rate (IR) in the province was recorded at 6.4 percent during the reference month. It increased by 1.1 percentage points from the previous month’s figure of 5.3 percent and 1.7 percentage points from the rate of 4.7 percent a year ago. Inflation Rate by Commodity Group, Year-on-Year By commodity group, IR was highest for transport posted at 28.8 percent during the month. Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels (11.8 percent) exhibited the second highest IR, followed by health (6.4 percent). The rest of the commodity groups, except for information and communication; and financial services, had IR ranging from 1.4 percent (restaurants and accommodation services) to 5.9 percent (alcoholic beverages and tobacco).
