The headline inflation in Batangas slowed down to 4.5 percent in December 2021 from 5.5 percent in November 2021. The average inflation in Batangas for the year 2021 at 5.2 percent was higher relative to the average inflation in 2020 at 2.1percent. Lower inflation recorded in the indices of the following commodity groups that also contributed to the downward trend in the overall inflation during the month: • Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages - 3.4 percent • Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco - 7.5 percent • Clothing and Footwear - 1.9 percent • Maintenance of the House - 1.6 percent • Health - 4.7 percent • Transport - 7.0 percent • Recreation and Culture - 0.8 percent and • Restaurant and Miscellaneous Goods and Services - 5.7 percent
