Rizal CPI Special Release August 2023 Provincial inflation of Rizal between August 2022 and August 2023 is shown in this figure. Inflation of 7.7 percent this month is higher than the inflation of 5.2 percent in August 2022. An increase in Rizal’s inflation rate was observed from 5.2 percent in August 2022 to 7.7 percent in August 2023. The main factors contributing to the upward trend in inflation were alcoholic beverages and tobacco, food and non-alcoholic beverages, restaurant and accommodation services, and health with 28.9, 12.3, 9.9 and 9.3 indices, respectively. Also contributing to the upward trend in the overall inflation were the higher annual increases in the indices of the following commodity groups: a. Personal Care, and Miscellaneous Goods and Services 9.6 percent b. Transport ,8.8 percent; c. Furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance, 6.6 percent; d. Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and Other Fuels, 6.1 percent; e. Recreation, Sport and Culture 5.4 percent Price situation in Rizal increased by 1.4 index from 126.0 to 127.4 on a month-to-month basis. Food and non-Alcohol beverages, Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco, and Transport contributed to this month’s inflation with 3.2,2.8 and 2.6 index points respectively. Higher indices were also observed in Clothing and footwear Education services with 0.7 and 0.6, Personal Care, Miscellaneous Goods and Services and Furnishings, Household Equipment and Routine Household Maintenance both with 0.2 index points. Information and Communication, Restaurant and Accommodation services and Financial Services remain unchanged.
