PSA Joins 2020 Civil Registration Month Celebration Every February of each year, the Philippine Statistics Authority – Regional Statistical Services Office IV-A, joins in the celebration of Civil Registration Month. To mark the 30th years of celebration, several activities were conducted by the office highlighting the theme “Shaping Civil Registration and Vital Statistics (CRVS) by Embracing New Trends In the 4th Industrial Revolution”. The RSSO IV-A held the kick-off ceremony on February 3, 2020 at the clients’ area of the PSA CRS Lipa City Outlet thru information dissemination about the celebration and its importance. Primers on civil registration were distributed to the clients.  Queries of clients relating to process of delayed registration, correction of clerical, legitimation, etc were entertained during the ceremony. Echo-Orientation on the Ease of Doing Business or the Republic Act 11032 and the PSA Citizens Charter were also conducted for the CRS Unisys frontline staff and RSSO IV-A employees on February 8 and 14, 2020 respectively. The activity aimed to familiarize the frontline staff of the key features of the law, scope and coverage, the implementation of Citizens Charter in different government agencies, responsibilities of government agencies, accountability of head of the agency and the PSA Citizens Charter on the issuance of civil registry documents submitted to the Ant-Red Tape Authority. A lecture on civil registration was also conducted to students to enhance awareness of the youth on the importance of civil registration. One hundred senior-high and college students of Royal British Academy (RBC) participated in the activity held on February 21, 2020. Another activity conducted by the RSSO on February 21, 2020 was the 2nd Civil Registration Quiz participated also by thirty (30) students of Royal British College. Three Senior High students emerged as winners during the quiz. They were given Certificate of Recognition and school supplies as prizes. On-the-Spot Poster Making Contest was also conducted on February 28, 2020 in celebration of the CRM. Ten (10) senior high students of RBC joined the activity held at the library of the said school. The participants were given two (2) hours to come up with their entry that shall capture the theme of the CRM celebration using the materials provided by the office. The ten entries were judged by Regional Director Charito C. Armonia, CSS Benigno F. Perido and IO Raquel Vener Villena using the following criteria:  Creativity and Presentation (40%), Originality (30%) and Relevance to the Theme (30%). In addition, the PSA RSSO IV-A, as part of the celebration and in support to the Local Civil Registrars in the region, hosted the 1st Quarter Meeting of League of Civil Registrars of Batangas Province (LCRBP) and 1st Quarter Meeting of Philippine Association of Civil Registrars Region IV-A (PACR IV-A) held simultaneously on Feb 13, 2020 at the PSA RSSO IV-A in Lipa City. Other activities conducted/participated by the PSA RSSO IV-A were Kasalang Bayan, civil registration trainings and forums, mobile registration organized by the Local Civil Registry Offices in the region.
