The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) - Quezon warns the public on the emerging fake National ID circulating across the province.
PSA encourages everyone to remain vigilant in any transaction that offers issuance of National ID in favor of monetary exchange. PSA is the only authorized implementing agency to register and issue any format of National ID as well as to process the replacement of damaged /peeled off National ID card.
Unregistered individuals are advised to visit the National ID registration centers or mobile registration and transact only with National ID personnel. To check the authenticity of issued National ID in any format, go to eVerify.gov.ph (PhilSys Check).
PSA would like to reiterate the penal provision in the revised Implementing Rules and Regulations of Republic Act No.11055, any person who utilizes any fraudulent acts or unlawful purpose/s shall be punished with imprisonment of not less than six (6) months but not more than two (2) years or a fine not less than Fifty thousand pesos (50,000.00), or both.
Meanwhile, any unauthorized issuance, printing or preparation of any format of the National ID shall be penalized with imprisonment of three (3) to six (6) years and a fine of one million pesos (Php1,000,000.00) to three million pesos (Php 3,000,000.00) for those found guilty.
