In a continuing effort to ensure that all Filipinos are included in the National Identification (NID) System, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Batangas conducted a house-to-house registration activity for bedridden senior citizens in the municipality of Sta. Teresita.
A total of 13 bedridden senior citizens were successfully registered during the activity, which was carried out by the NID registration team in coordination with the Office of the Senior Citizens (OSCA), the Local Civil Registrars Office (LCRO) and the concerned barangay officials.
This initiative is part of the inclusive strategies of PSA Batangas to make National ID registration accessible to all, especially the vulnerable and marginalized sectors of society, such as the elderly and persons with disabilities. The activity also supports the national goal of establishing a single, valid proof of identity for all Filipinos to streamline government and private transactions.
PSA Batangas continues to encourage the public to register for the National ID and to coordinate with their local government units should they have household members who are unable to physically appear at registration sites due to medical or mobility limitations
