PSA Batangas conducts the 2019 July Labor Force Survey (LFS) and 2019 Annual Poverty Indicators Survey (APIS)

Batangas Provincial Statistical Office will conduct the July 2019 Labor Force Survey (LFS) and 2019 Annual Poverty Indicators Survey (APIS). LFS aims to provide a quantitative framework for the preparation of plans and formulation of policies affecting the labor market. APIS on the other hand is designed to provide estimates for non-income poverty indicator and gather data on socio economic profile of families and other information that are related to their conditionswhich serve as inputs to the Multidimensional Poverty Index (MPI). The APIS is a rider survey of the July round of LFS. The data items to be collected in the survey include the following: (1) demographic and socio-economic characteristics of families; (2) water supply, sanitation, and hygiene (WaSH) indicators; (3) school attendance of persons aged 3-24 years; (4) highest educational attainment of persons 5 years old and over; (5) access to social protection programs and (6) access to government services. Rider questions on the awareness of the Philippine Competition Commission (PCC) and the Philippine Completion Act (PCA) was also added in this round. The PCC aims to be a world-class authority in promoting fair marker competition to help achieve a vibrant and inclusive economy and advance consumer welfare. The July 2019 LFS and 2019 APIS will use four replicate from the 2013 Master Sample, or about 400 sample household in Batangas. The 2019 round of APIS will employ the Computer- Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) data collection method for the first time. Enumeration will start on July 8, 2019.
