Upward adjustment in the prices of selected fresh fish, vegetable, fruit, glutinous rice, chocolate drink and milk (condensed, evaporated infant powder milk) raised the FNB index up by 0.9 percent from 0.7 percent last month. Price mark-up in cigarettes (Marlboro Champion) and alcoholic beverages (Gin Rhum) caused the FNB index up by 5.2 percent from 5.1 percent. Increments in the prices of footwear particularly men’s slippers pulled the CF index up by 0.5 percent from zero growth. Gain in Health index by 0.4 percent from zero growth was due to increment in medical consultation. Prices of FHERMH, Comm and Educ items remained stable this month as the groups’ indices recorded  zero growth while RMGS index stood at its previous month’s rate of 0.1 percent. The HWEGOF index declined by -1.1 percent from -0.8 percent. This was due to price decrement in LPG. Rollback in the prices diesel and gasoline moved the Trans index down by 0.1 percent from 0.3 percent.  Price addition in RC items slowed down. Hence, the growth in the group’s index decelerated by 0.1 percent from 0.2 percent.   Name: MAGDALENA T. SERQUEÑA Position/Designation: Provincial Statistics Officer
