PRESS RELEASE: PSA Quezon Holds PhilSys Seminar to Mall Tenants of Pacific Mall Lucena on the Use and Acceptance of PhilID

The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Quezon Provincial Statistical Office conducts seminar for mall tenants of Pacific Mall - Lucena City, Quezon on 3 May 2023. It was held at the 3rd Floor Activity Center of Pacific Mall attended by one hundred sixty-five (165) owners and representatives from establishments located in the mall including mall officials. One of the PhilSys advocacy campaigns is to raise awareness thru the conduct of seminar/orientation to the relying parties such as mall tenants to be able to discuss the benefits of having a National ID and being PhilSys-registered. The seminar focused on the use and acceptance of the various formats of the PhilSys ID card, digital ID and the printed ePhilID as valild proof of identity and age, subject to authentication using PhilSys Check application. An actual use of PhilSys check application was also demonstrated among attendees during the seminar to familiarize tenants/ representatives on verification process in relation to their respective transactions. Moreover, queries about the replacement of damaged /lost PhilID, non acceptance of selected establishment and other related concerns were also addressed. It was emphasized during the discussion that, any person, entity or relying parties who refuse to accept or recognize any form of PhilID without just and sufficient cause shall be punishable under Penal Provision of Republic Act No. 11055.
