Quezon Province is the Top Corn Producer in CALABARZON in 2021 Quezon produced 44,051 metric tons of corn in 2021. It remains as the top producer of corn in CALABARZON region accounting for 65.6 percent of the region’s total production of 67,145 metric tons. Batangas followed with 16,342 metric tons (24.3%), then Laguna with 4,120 metric tons (6.1%). Rizal contributed 1,475 metric tons (2.2%) while Cavite had the least share of 1,157 metric tons (1.7%). Corn Production By crop type, white corn production was at 9,324 metric tons. This figure was 14.7 percent lower than the production in 2020 at 10,933 metric tons. Likewise, the production of yellow corn at 34,727 metric tons was down by 23.8 percent compared to the 45,594 metric tons produced in 2020. Harvest Area The harvest area of corn in Quezon in 2021 was estimated at 17,155 hectares. This was 12.2 percent lower than the recorded 19,528 hectares in 2020.
