Marriage Statistics: September 2018 Quezon (Preliminary Results)

Vital registration is a continuous process. Hence there is a need to specify certain cut-off period for purposes of reporting. The Marriage Statistics in Quezon presented in this report contains highlights and summary of statistical tables of marriages that occurred on or before August 2018 and registered within the said month. Events that occurred in August 2018 but were not registered during the month were not included in this publication. For this report, Decentralized Vital Statistics System (DVSS) 2011 was used in data encoding. In the generation of DVSS tables however, CSPro 7.1 was utilized. Number of Marriages… A total of 586 marriages were registered in Quezon in September 2018. It recorded an increase of 20.8 percent from the previous month’s total of 485. The daily average of registered marriages during the month was 20, higher than the recorded daily average of 16 in August. Marriages by Place of Occurrence… Mauban (74 or 12.6 percent) had the highest number of registered marriages. It was followed by Sariaya (58 or 9.9 percent). Lucena City (57 or 9.7 percent) and City of Tayabas (43 or 7.3 percent) recorded the next highest registered marriages. More than half of the 41 municipalities/cities in the province registered less than 10 marriage occurrences. There was no marriage event recorded in the island municipalities of Alabat and Perez. Marriages by Type of Ceremony… Majority of the registered marriages were solemnized under church rites, with 364 or 62.1 percent. Marriages performed under civil ceremonies totaled 188 accounting for 32.1 percent of the total registered marriages. There was one (0.2 percent) registered marriage celebrated under Muslim rites.
