Marriage Statistics: April 2019 Quezon (Preliminary Results)

Vital registration is a continuous process. Hence there is a need to specify certain cut-off period for purposes of reporting. The Marriage Statistics in Quezon presented in this report contains highlights and summary of statistical tables of marriages that occurred on or before April 2019 and registered within the said month. Events that occurred in April 2019 but were not registered during the month were not included in this publication. For this report, Decentralized Vital Statistics System (DVSS) 2011 was used in data encoding. In the generation of DVSS tables however, CSPro 7.1 was utilized. Number of Marriages… A total of 961 marriages were registered in Quezon in April 2019. It recorded an increase of 1.5 percent from the previous month’s total of 947. The daily average of registered marriages during the month was 32, higher than the recorded daily average of 31 in March. Marriages by Place of Occurrence… Sariaya (86 or 8.9 percent) had the highest number of registered marriages. It was followed by Catanauan (77 or 8.0 percent). Lucena City (68 or 7.1 percent) and Candelaria (60 or 6.2 percent) recorded the next highest registered marriages. Around 29.3 percent of 41 municipalities/cities in the province registered less than 10 marriage occurrences during the month. Marriages by Type of Ceremony… Most of the registered marriages were solemnized under church rites, with 460 or 47.9 percent. Marriages performed under civil ceremonies totaled 424 accounting for 44.1 percent of the total registered marriages. Marriages celebrated under other types of ceremonies comprised only 8.0 percent.
