[Lipa City, Batangas] – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) CALABARZON reported the February 2025 inflation in the region via hybrid press conference on 10 March 2025. Regional Director Charito C. Armonia announced that the prices of commodities in the region increased by 2.1 percent, lower than the 3.1 percent rise in prices observed in January.

Lower increase in prices for Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages commodity group averaging at 4.0 percent compared to the previous month’s rate of 5.3 percent contributed to the deceleration in the overall inflation rate (IR). In addition, Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels and Restaurants and accommodation services commodity groups contributed to the decrease in overall IR, with recorded IR of -0.3 and 2.7 percent, respectively.

Likewise, lower increase in prices of commodities were recorded in all provinces and one highly urbanized city of the region. Quezon posted the highest inflation of 4.3 percent, from 5.8 percent inflation in January 2025. City of Lucena posted an IR of 2.6 percent, from 4.4 percent in January; Laguna at 2.3 percent, from 3.3 percent in January; Rizal at 2.3 percent, from 4.2 percent in January; Batangas at 1.7 percent, from 2.3 percent in January. Cavite posted the lowest inflation of 1.4 percent, from 2.0 percent in January.
