Household population comprises 99.7 percent of the total population As of 01 May 2020, the Philippines had a total population of 109,035,343 persons. Of this total, the household population comprised 99.7 percent or 108,667,043 persons. This is 8.09 million higher than the 100,573,715 household population in 2015, and 16.57 million more than the 92,097,978 household population posted in 2010. (Table A and Figure 1) The remaining 0.3 percent of the total population is comprised of the institutional population or those residing in collective or institutional living quarters such as hospitals, orphanages, and military camps; and of Filipinos in Philippine embassies, consulates, and missions abroad. Number of households increased by 3.42 million from 22.98 million in 2015 to 26.39 million in 2020 The total number of households in the country reached 26,393,906 in 2020. This is higher by 3.42 million compared with the 22,975,630 households in 2015 and by 6.22 million compared with 20,171,899 households in 2010. (Table B and Figure 2) Two in every five households in the country are in CALABARZON, NCR, and Central Luzon Among the 17 administrative regions, Region IV-A (CALABARZON) had the most number of households in 2020 with 4.06 million, followed by the National Capital Region (NCR) with 3.50 million, and Region III (Central Luzon) with 3.04 million. These three regions comprised 40.2 percent of the total households in the country. The Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) posted the least number of households with 439,166 households. (Table C) Average household size declines to 4.1 persons in 2020 The average household size (AHS) of the country decreased from 4.4 persons in 2015 to 4.1 persons in 2020. In 2010, there were 4.6 persons, on average, per household. (Table C and Figure 2) Six out of the 17 administrative regions posted an AHS higher than the national AHS of 4.1 persons, namely: the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) with 5.9 persons; Region V (Bicol) with 4.4 persons; Region IX (Zamboanga Peninsula) with 4.3 persons; and Region VIII (Eastern Visayas), Region X (Northern Mindanao, and Region XIII (Caraga) with 4.2 persons each. Eight other regions posted an AHS equal to that at the national level. Moreover, the three regions with the smallest AHS were: Region IV-A (CALABARZON) with 4.0 persons, Region XI (Davao) with 3.9 persons, and the NCR with 3.8 persons.     DENNIS S. As of May 1, 2020, the household population of Burdeos was recorded at 24,627 individuals, based on the result of the 2020 Census of Population and Housing (2020 CPH).
