This report summarizes the administrative data gathered from August 2022 documents submitted by the local civil registry offices of the thirteen municipalities and a city in the province of Rizal. The province generated the following statistics: Seven Hundred and One (701) for marriage. This represents 5.34% decrease from the 780 registered vital events from the previous month. MARRIAGE STATISTICS Marriage is a special contract of permanent union between a man and a woman entered into in accordance with law for the establishment of conjugal and family life As the table shows, month of August had 670 timely registered marriages compared to 765 of the previous month with a recorded decrease of 6.62 percent in registration. The city/municipality with the highest number of timely registered marriages was recorded in the City of Antipolo with 206 registered documents, followed by Taytay with 95 and Montalban with 64 registered marriages. (See table E.) The City of Antipolo having the highest registered marriages in the province of Rizal, documented Catholic marriages as the most officiated with one hundred sixteen (116) instances, as well as in other religious rites with forty nine (49) while Taytay in Civil Ceremonies with sixty two (62) instances. There was ten (10) recorded widow on bride’s civil status and twelve (12) widowers on the grooms, Divorced with four (4) on the grooms and one (1) on the bride, and Annulled with two (2) on the grooms and one (1) on the bride. Province-wide, civil ceremonies initiated by the local chief executives in coordination with the municipal civil registrars including those solemnized by judges, recorded the highest number of registrations with 311 (46.42%). Ceremonies officiated by other religious sectors recorded 203 events or 30.30 percent. Roman Catholic ceremonies recorded 156 events or 23.28 percent. (refer to Figure II) Teen bride had five (5) or 0.75% recorded marriages while teen groom had three (3) or 0.45% recorded events this month. There was three (3) recorded groom who got married with age of 75 years old and over that tied the knot. The modal age group for groom and bride was at 25- 29 years old with 236 grooms and 285 brides (See Table F). In Rizal, there were 15 Filipinas married to foreign nationals that were registered in August 2022 (See table G).
