This special release presents the statistical data on marriages occurring for the month of May 2024 in the Province of Cavite. This publication shows the disaggregated data on registered marriages by registration status down to city/municipal level. It also presents the total registered marriages by nationality of bride and groom. The civil registry documents transmitted by the Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs) to Cavite Provincial Office for machine processing served as the source of data in preparation of this publication.

MARRIAGES IN CAVITE

A total of 1,134 marriages were registered in the Province of Cavite for the month of May 2024. Figure 1 shows that Silang recorded the highest registered marriages at 156, followed by Tagaytay City and City of Imus with 138 and 105 weddings, respectively. The least registered marriages with below ten (10) registered marriages were recorded in Ternate with only five (5), followed by General Emilio Aguinaldo and Magallanes with seven (7) weddings each, and Maragondon with nine (9) weddings.

Moreover, timely registered marriages accounted for 1,120 or 98.8 percent while late registered marriages accounted for only 14 or 1.2 percent. The highest number of timely registered marriages came from Silang which had 852 timely registered marriages while the highest number of late registered marriages was from Silang as well with four (4) late registered marriages. Of the 23 cities/municipalities in the province, 5 cities and 9 municipalities had all of their recorded marriages registered on time.

Figure 2 shows that 1,095 or 96.6 percent of the 1,134 grooms in May 2024 were Filipino citizens. Foreign citizens recorded 39 or 3.4 percent of the grooms in Cavite. The highest number of foreign citizens came from United States of America with 16 grooms, followed from China with three (3) grooms, Japan with two (2) grooms, and Spain with one (1) groom.

On the other hand, Figure 3 shows that in May 2024, 1,128 or 99.5 percent of the 1,134 brides were Filipino citizens, while foreign citizens totaled to only six (6) or 0.5 percent of the brides in Cavite. Of the 6 foreign citizens, two (2) came from United States of America, and one (1) from Japan.

SUMMARY

The Province of Cavite recorded a total of 1,134 marriages for the month of May 2024. Silang had the highest registered marriages of 156 and also with the most number of timely registered marriages. Ternate had the least with five (5) marriages. Majority of the registered marriages were timely registered. The total late registered marriages were only 14. No late registered marriages were reported in 5 cities and 9 municipalities in the province. Most of the grooms and brides are Filipino citizens. Grooms and brides with foreign citizenship reached 39 and 6, respectively.
