This special release provides data on approved building permits that covers all municipalities and cities for the construction of residential and non-residential structures, additions/repairs, renovation, and demolitions in the Province of Cavite that occurred during the month of February 2023. Data gathered from approved building permits of various local government offices of the province were generated for the purpose of calculating the national income accounts and estimating the level of construction activity. The total number of buildings constructed for the month of February 2023 was 1,459. Table 1 shows that among the 23 cities/municipalities, Municipality of Naic had the most number of buildings built with 479, this was followed by City of Imus and City of Gen. Trias with 196 and 137 constructions, respectively.  Also showed significant numbers of construction were City of Dasmarinas with129 and City of Bacoor with 120 constructions. The Municipality of Ternate and Maragondon recorded the least buildings constructed for the month of February with only four (4) constructions each. The Municipalities of Magallanes and Gen. E. Aguinaldo also recorded fewer number of projects with 5 and 9 buildings constructed, respectively. Also shown in Table 1, the Municipality  of Naic also got the largest Floor area with a total of 22,326 sqm. This was followed by City of Dasmarinas with a Floor Area of 20,886 sqm and City of Gen. Trias with 18,578 sqm. City of Dasmarinas got the highest value with 271,321, this was followed by City of Bacoor with a value of 244,151 and Municipality of Tanza  with a value of 188,543. Figure 1 shows  the percentage distribution of the constructed residential and non- residential building in Cavite for the month. Ninety percent or 1,029 of comprised the residential construction while the remaining 10% or 114 were from the non-residential construction. As shown in Figure 2, majority of buildings built in February 2023 were New Construction of residential/non-residential with 1,459 buildings, followed by Additions with 243 and Alterations and Repairs with  73 construction projects. Table 2 shows that City of Imus had the most Addition Constructions with 95, followed by City of Gen. Trias with 60 and City of Bacoor with 34.. Also, City of Dasmarinas and Municipality of Tanza had 18 and 17 additional constructed buildings, respectively. The municipalities of Alfonso, Gen. E. Aguinaldo, Indang, Magallanes, Mendez-Nuñez, Noveleta, Silang, Ternate cities of Cavite City, Tagaytay City and Trece Martires City have no reported additional construction projects for the month of February. The City of Imus recorded the largest area with a total of 2,766 sqm for the Floor Area and 26,406 for Value in additional construction. This was followed by City of Gen. Trias with 2,518 sqm and value of 20,936 and City of Bacoor with 1,662 sqm, and a value of 19,572. Table 3 shows the City of Bacoor registered the most Alterations and Repairs with 21 followed by the City of Imus with 13 and Municipality of Carmona with 9.Also recorded with alteration and repairs construction were City of Dasmariñas with 7 reports. The Municipalities of Alfonso, Gen. E. Aguinaldo, Indang, Magallanes, Maragondon, Mendez-Nunez,Naic, Noveleta, Ternate, Gen M. Alvarez and Tagaytay City have no recorded alteration. City of Bacoor registered the highest value for construction on Alterations and Repairs with 28,056, followed by City of Imus and Municipality of Carmona with16,166 and 5,573 respectively. Summary The total number of buildings under construction in the province for the month of February was 1,459 buildings, 90 percent or 1,143 of them were residential structures. The remaining 10% or 114 were non-residential building. Municipality of Naic had the most buildings built with 479 buildings and got the most number of floor area with a total of 22,326 sqm while municipalities of Maragondon and  Ternate got the least number of building constructed with four (4)  buildings each and  floor area of 735 and 629 sqm., respectively. For the Addition of Construction, City of Imus got the most number with 95 while Municipalities of Alfonso, Gen. Aguinaldo, Indang, Magallanes, Mendez- Nuñez, Noveleta, Silang, Ternate,cities of Cavite City, Tagaytay City, and Trece Martires City have no recorded addition. City of Bacoor got the highest number for alteration and repair construction with 21. On the other hand ,municipalities of Alfonso, Gen. E. Aguinaldo, Indang, Magallanes,Maragondon, Mendez- Nuñez, Noveleta,Ternate, Gen. M. Alvarez and Tagaytay City have no recorded alterations. The combined floor area of all building types for February 2023 was 156,529 square meters, with a total investment of PhP 1,849,758.
