This special release presents statistical data on births occurring for the month of May 2023 in the Province of Cavite. This publication shows the disaggregated data of live births by sex and by registration status down to city/municipal level. It also presents the total registered live births by legitimacy status, place type and attendant-at-birth. The civil registry documents transmitted by the Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs) to Cavite Provincial Office for machine processing served as the source of data in preparation of this publication. Births in Cavite Table 1 shows that there were 4,929 registered live births in the Province of Cavite for the month of May 2023. Male births accounted for 51.1% or 2,519 of the total births while female births accounted for 48.9% or 2,410. Males were higher by 109 than females. One (1) city and eight (8) municipalities recorded more females than males. These were as follows: City of General Trias, and municipalities of Amadeo, General Emilio Aguinaldo, Indang, Magallanes, Mendez, Noveleta, Silang and Ternate. The same number of male and female births were registered in the municipality of Rosario. The City of Dasmariñas recorded the highest registered live births with 783 births composed of 419 males and 364 females. This was followed by City of Bacoor and Trece Martires City with 766 and 580 registered live births, respectively. The least registered live births were recorded in Ternate with three (3), followed by Amadeo and Magallanes with 19 and 22, respectively. Table 2 shows that 73.9% or 3,641 were timely registered and 26.1% or 1,288 were late registered. Timely registered births were higher by 2,353 compared to late registered births. Majority were registered within the reglementary period of 30 days. Maragondon and Trece Martires City had the highest percentage of timely registered births; both with 82.9% or 34 out of 41 and 481 out of 580 total registered births, respectively. This was followed by Naic with 82.5% or 249 out of 302 total registered births. Magallanes had the highest percentage of late registered births with 68.2% or 15 out of 22 registered births, followed by Ternate with 66.7% or 2 out of 3 registered births and Rosario with 56.4% or 53 out of 94 registered births. Figure 1 shows that 3,418 or 69.3% were non-marital births or babies born out-of-wedlock and 1,511 or 30.7% were marital births. Non-marital births were higher by 1,907. Figure 2 shows that babies born in Health Facility had a total of 4,031 of which 2,103 were males and 1,928 were females. Babies born at Home had a total of 896 comprised of 414 males and 482 females. The remaining two (2) births of which were both males had no place type of occurrence stated on the birth certificate. Figure 3 shows that majority of birth deliveries were attended by Physician with a total of 2,463 of which 1,320 were males and 1,143 were females. It was followed by Midwife with 1,548 composed of 786 males and 762 females and Unlicensed Midwife with 748 composed of 326 male births and 422 female births. Nurse had attended a total of 148 births of which 76 were males and 72 were females. Others had 22 birth deliveries composed of 11 male and female births. Summary The Province of Cavite had recorded a total of 4,929 live births for the month of May 2023. Male births were predominant in most cities/municipalities. Males outnumbered females by 109. The highest number of registered births came from the City of Dasmariñas with 783 and the least came from Ternate with three (3) live births only. Timely registered births were higher than late registered births. There were also more non-marital births compared to marital births. Majority of birth deliveries occurred on a Health Facility and the most common attendant-at-birth was Physician.
