This special release presents statistical data on births occurring for the month of July 2024 in the Province of Cavite. This publication shows the disaggregated data of live births by sex and by registration status down to city/municipal level. It also presents the total registered live births by nationality of father and mother, usual residence of the mother, and type of birth. The civil registry documents transmitted by the Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs) to Cavite Provincial Office for machine processing served as the source of data in preparation of this publication.
Births in Cavite
Table 1 shows that there were 4,389 registered live births in the Province of Cavite for the month of July 2024. Male births accounted for 52.1 percent or 2,285 of the total births while female births accounted for 47.9 percent or 2,104. Males were higher by 181 than females. Six (6) cities and six (6) municipalities recorded more male than female births. These were as follows: City of Bacoor, City of Carmona, City of Dasmariñas, City of General Trias, City of Imus, and Trece Martires City and municipalities of Amadeo, General Emilio Aguinaldo, Kawit, Silang, Tanza and Ternate. The same number of female and male births were recorded in Alfonso, Cavite City and Rosario.
The City of Dasmariñas recorded the highest registered live births with 740 total registered births. This was followed by City of Bacoor and Trece Martires City with 670 and 653 registered live births, respectively. The least registered live births were recorded in Ternate with 14, followed by Magallanes with 16. Alfonso and General Emilio Aguinaldo both recorded 20 registered live births.
Table 2 shows that 81.9 percent or 4,389 were timely registered while 18.1 percent or 795 were late registered. Timely registered births were registered within the reglementary period of 30 days. These births were higher by 2,799 compared to late registered births.
City of Carmona had the highest percentage of timely registered births with 90.7 percent or 39 out of 43 total registered births. This was followed by Mendez with 90.4 percent or 47 out of 52 and City of Bacoor with 90.3 percent or 605 out of 670 registered births. On the other hand, Ternate recorded the highest percentage of late registered births with 50.0 percent or seven (7) out of 14 registered births, followed by Magallanes with 37.5 percent or six (6) out of 16 and Amadeo with 33.3 percent or seven (7) out of 21 registered births.
Figure 1 shows that most of the babies born were from Filipino mother (4,383 or 99.9%) while six (6) or 0.1% were babies with foreign mother. Births with Filipino mothers were higher by 4,377.
Figure 2 shows that most of the babies born were from Filipino father (4,124 or 94.0%). On the other hand, 265 or 6.0% were babies with foreign father. Births with Filipino fathers were higher by 3,859.
Figure 3 shows that the majority of the babies’ mother were residents of Cavite with a total of 4,312 while residents of other provinces were 77.
Figure 4 shows that majority of birth deliveries were single with a total of 4,358 of which 2,267 were males and 2,091 were females meanwhile twins had a total of 31 composed of 18 males and 13 females.
SUMMARY
The Province of Cavite had recorded a total of 4,389 live births for the month of July 2024. Male births were predominant in the province. Overall, males (2,285) outnumbered females (2,104) by 181. The highest number of registered births came from City of Dasmariñas with 740 and the least came from Ternate with 14 live births only. Timely registered births were higher than late registered births. There were also more live births with Filipino mothers and fathers than births with foreign fathers and mothers. Majority of the mothers were residents of Cavite and among the types of birth, single was the most common.
