This special release presents statistical data on births occurring for the month of December 2022 in the Province of Cavite. This publication shows the disaggregated data of live births by sex and by registration status down to city/municipal level. It also presents the total registered live births by legitimacy status, place type and attendant-at-birth. The civil registry documents transmitted by the Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs) to Cavite Provincial Office for machine processing served as the source of data in preparation of this publication.   Births in Cavite   Table 1 shows that there were 5,172 registered live births in the Province of Cavite for the month of December 2022. Male births accounted for 52.6% or 2,720 of the total births while female births accounted for 47.4% or 2,452. Males were higher by 268 than females. Two (2) cities and three (3) municipalities recorded more females than males. These were as follows: City of Dasmariñas and City of Imus and municipalities of Amadeo, General Emilio Aguinaldo and Magallanes. The same number of male and female births were registered in the municipality of Rosario.   Majority of the registered live births were from City of Dasmariñas with 883 births composed of 430 males and 453 females. This was followed by Trece Martires City and City of Bacoor and with 741 and 717 registered live births, respectively. The least registered live births were recorded in Ternate with six (6), followed by Magallanes and Alfonso with 20 and 21 births, respectively.   Table 2 shows that 80.6% or 4,171 were timely registered and 19.4% or 1,001 were late registered. Timely registered births were higher by 3,170 compared to late registered births. Majority were registered within the reglementary period of 30 days.   Ternate had the highest percentage of timely registered births with 100% or 6 out of 6 total registered births, followed by Noveleta with 90.2% or 74 out of 82 total registered births. Magallanes had the highest late registered births with 50.0% or 10 out of 20 total registered births, followed by Rosario with 44.3% or 31 out of 70 total registered births.   = Figure 1 shows that 3,588 or 69.4% were non-marital births or babies born out-of-wedlock and 1,584 or 30.6% were marital births. Non-marital births were higher by 2,004.   Figure 2 shows that babies born in Health Facility had a total of 4,437, of which 2,340 were males and 2,097 were females. Babies born at Home had a total of 730, comprised of 376 males and 354 females. The remaining five (5) births of which four (4) were males and one (1) was a female had no place type of occurrence stated on the birth certificate.     Figure 3 shows that majority of birth deliveries were attended by Physician with a total of 2,612 of which 1,393 were males and 1,219 were females, followed by Midwife with 1,863 composed of 978 males and 885 females and Unlicensed Midwife with 527 composed of 261 and 266 male and female births, respectively. Nurse had attended a total of 152 births of which 79 were males and 73 were females. Others had attended 18 birth deliveries with both nine (9) male and female births.     Summary   A total of 5,172 live births were registered on the month of December 2022 in the Province of Cavite. Male births were predominant in most cities/municipalities. Males outnumbered females by 268. The highest number of registered births came from the City of Dasmariñas with 883 and the least came from Ternate with six (6) live births only. Timely registered births were higher than late registered births. There were also more non-marital births compared to marital births. Health Facility was the most common place type for birth deliveries and Physician was the most common attendant-at-birth.
