This special release presents statistical data on births occurring for the month of April 2023 in the Province of Cavite. This publication shows the disaggregated data of live births by sex and by registration status down to city/municipal level. It also presents the total registered live births by legitimacy status, place type and attendant-at-birth. The civil registry documents transmitted by the Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs) to Cavite Provincial Office for machine processing served as the source of data in preparation of this publication. Births in Cavite Table 1 shows that there were 4, 290 registered live births in the Province of Cavite for the month of April 2023. Male births accounted for 50.3% or 2,160 of the total births while female births accounted for 49.7% or 2,130. Males were higher by 30 than females. Five (5) cities and five (5) municipalities recorded more males than females., These were as follows: City of Bacoor, Cavite City, City of General Trias, City of Imus, and Trece Martires City and municipalities of Alfonso, Carmona, Rosario, Silang and Tanza. The City of Dasmariñas recorded the highest registered live births with 694 births composed of 332 males and 362 females. This was followed by City of Bacoor and City of General Trias with 555 and 525 registered live births, respectively. The least registered live births were recorded in Ternate with 11, followed by Magallanes and Mendez both with 14 births. Table 2 shows that 71.7% or 3,078 were timely registered and 28.3% or 1,212 were late registered. Timely registered births were higher by 1,866 compared to late registered births. Majority were registered within the reglementary period of 30 days. Trece Martires City had the highest percentage of timely registered births with 85.8% or 429 out of 500 total registered births, followed by City of Dasmariñas with 85.0% or 590 out of 694 total registered births and Noveleta with 83.6% or 46 out of 55 registered births. Ternate had the highest percentage of late registered births with 72.7% or 8 out of 11 registered births, followed by Mendez with 64.3% or 9 out of 14 registered births and Amadeo with 62.5% or 10 out of 16 registered births. Figure 1 shows that 3,023 or 70.5% were non-marital births or babies born out-of-wedlock and 1,267 or 29.5% were marital births. Non-marital births were higher by 1,765. Figure 2 shows that babies born in Health Facility had a total of 3,389 of which 1,726 were males and 1,663 were females. Babies born at Home had a total of 897 comprised of 431 males and 466 females. The remaining four (4) births of which three (3) were males and one (1) was a female had no place type of occurrence stated on the birth certificate. Figure 3 shows that majority of birth deliveries were attended by Physician with a total of 2,041 of which 1,055 were males and 986 were females, followed by Midwife with 1,390 composed of 694 males and 696 females and Unlicensed Midwife with 726 composed of 348 male births and 378 female births. Nurse had attended a total of 123 births of which 57 were males and 66 were females. Others had 10 birth deliveries composed of six (6) male and four (4) female births. Summary The Province of Cavite had recorded a total of 4,290 live births for the month of April 2023. Male births were predominant in most cities/municipalities. Males outnumbered females by 30. The highest number of registered births came from the City of Dasmariñas with 694 and the least came from Ternate with 11 live births only. Timely registered births were higher than late registered births. There were also more non-marital births compared to marital births. Majority of birth deliveries occurred on a Health Facility and the most common attendant-at-birth was Physician.
