LIPA CITY, Batangas – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) CALABARZON reported the July 2025 inflation in the region during an online press conference on 08 August 2025. Officer-In-Charge Regional Director Wilma A. Villafuerte announced that the region’s inflation rate in July 2025 remained at 1.8 percent, the same as in June 2025. This figure is 2.2 percentage points lower than the 4.0 percent recorded in July 2024. Additionally, the average inflation from January to July 2025 hits at 2.0 percent
The major contributor to the region’s overall inflation rate is the Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and Other Fuels commodity group with an inflation rate (IR) of 2.5 percent and a 27.4 percent share to the overall IR. Specifically, electricity prices rose by 6.6 percent, rentals increased by 1.5 percent, and water supply costs went up by 3.9 percent.
Among Food groups in CALABARZON, Corn recorded a faster price increase, with an IR of 13.4 percent. Other Food groups that incurred increment in IR include Flour, bread and other bakery products, pasta products, and other cereals at 1.2 percent; Meat and other parts of slaughtered land animals at 11.7 percent; Fish and other seafood at 4.7 percent; Milk, other dairy products and eggs at 3.8 percent; and Oils and fats at 17.2 percent.
Compared to June 2025, inflation rates in July 2025 declined in Laguna (from 2.3 percent to 1.8 percent) and Rizal (from 2.3 percent to 1.7 percent). In Cavite, Quezon, and City of Lucena, inflation rates increased to 2.3 percent (from 1.3 percent), 1.9 percent (from 1.7 percent), and 1.0 percent (from 0.6 percent), respectively. Batangas maintained its inflation rate at 1.3 percent.
The purchasing power of peso (PPP) in the region was recorded at 78 centavos in July 2025, compared to base year 2018.
