Birth Statistics: April 2019 Quezon (Preliminary Results)

Vital registration is a continuous process. Hence there is a need to specify certain cut-off period for purposes of reporting. The Birth Statistics in Quezon presented in this report contains highlights and summary of statistical tables of births that occurred on or before April 2019 and registered within the said month. Events that occurred in April 2019 but were not registered during the month were not included in this publication. For this report, Decentralized Vital Statistics System (DVSS) 2011 was used in data encoding. In the generation of DVSS tables however, CSPro 7.1 was utilized. Live births… A total of 3,987 live births were registered in the province in April 2019. It recorded a decrease of 1.9 percent from the March figure of 4,066. The daily average of birth occurrences during the month was 133. Of the total births registered, 49.9 percent were males and 50.1 percent were females. This resulted to a birth sex ratio of 99 males for every 100 females. Lucena City recorded the highest number of live births with a total of 988 or 24.8 percent of the total births registered in the province. It was followed by Candelaria with a total of 244 or 6.1 percent. The least number of registered births was observed in the municipalities of Agdangan and Sampaloc both with two (2) or 0.05 percent. Attendant at Birth... The 2,734 (68.6 percent) birth deliveries were attended to by medically trained personnel such as physicians, nurses and midwives. Number of Registered Live Births by Sex: Quezon, April and March 20192 The number of birth occurrences delivered by the traditional birth attendants and those without medical training was 1,232 or 30.9 percent of the total. Seven municipalities in the province recorded higher number of live births attended to by traditional birth attendants compared to those attended to by health professionals. The municipality of San Francisco (89.8 percent) topped the list of areas with high percentage of birth deliveries attended to by non-health professionals. It was followed by the municipalities of San Andres, Panukulan, San Narciso and Burdeos with 85.6 percent, 75.0 percent, 74.6 percent and 60.5 percent, respectively. A total of 3,685 live births were registered in the province in January 2024. It recorded an increase of 8.5 percent from the December 2023 figure of 3,397.
This special release presents gender statistics on vital events such as birth, marriage and death for the 1st Semestral 2024 in the Province of Cavite.
