The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) successfully turned over the data from the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) to the local government of Alabat, Quezon. Alabat was among the LGUs who joined the CBMS roll-out in 2022. The ceremonial activity was held today, December 19, 2023 at Alabat, Quezon. This noteworthy event was made possible and realized as a result of the collaborative efforts of the PSA and the local government of Alabat and constituents.
Attending officials included the following: Municipal Mayor of Alabat, Honorable Jose Ramil R. Arquiza, RSSO 4A Chief Statistical Specialist Benigno F. Perido, Supervising Statistical Specialist Normita D. Pagkatipunan, and OIC-MPDC Myleen B. Cabangon. Also in attendance were the Department Heads of Alabat, Quezon and other PSA and LGU personnel.
There were 2,130 responding households with a total of 8,254 individuals covered in the CBMS. Senior Statistical Specialist Margarita G. Cada presented the highlights of the results from the Household and Barangay Profile Questionnaire which included the basic services such as electricity, internet, water, toilet facilities, safety, food insecurity, and disaster preparedness, among others. The LGU can now use the data derived from the CBMS for program planning and policy formulation, according to SrSS Cada.
Hon. Municipal Councilor Raul U. Declaro, in his acceptance message, on behalf of Mayor Arquiza, expressed his gratitude to the PSA for funding the municipality of Alabat in the conduct of CBMS. He thanked all the field personnel and assured them that the data would be used in planning programs for the municipality and that they will support all the undertakings of PSA, especially the upcoming 2024 CBMS.
