This special release presents statistical data on births occurring for the month of June 2024 in the Province of Cavite. This publication shows the disaggregated data of live births by sex and by registration status down to city/municipal level. It also presents the total registered live births by nationality of father and mother, usual residence of the mother, and type of birth. The civil registry documents transmitted by the Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs) to Cavite Provincial Office for machine processing served as the source of data in preparation of this publication.

Births in Cavite

Table 1 shows that there were 4,055 registered live births in the Province of Cavite for the month of June 2024. Male births accounted for 51.5 percent or 2,088 of the total births while female births accounted for 48.5 percent or 1,967. Males were higher by 121 than females. Four (4) cities and seven (7) municipalities recorded more male than female births. These were as follows: City of Carmona, Cavite City, City of Dasmariñas, and Trece Martires City and municipalities of Alfonso, Maragondon, Mendez, Naic, Silang, Tanza and General Mariano Alvarez. The same number of female and male births were recorded in Amadeo, City of Bacoor and Tagaytay City.

The City of Bacoor and City of Dasmariñas recorded the highest registered live births, both with 656 total registered births. This was followed by Trece Martires City and City of General Trias with 589 and 371 registered live births, respectively. The least registered live births were recorded in Ternate with 13, followed by Amadeo and Magallanes with 16 and 20 registered live births, respectively.

Table 2 shows that 76.3 percent or 3,094 were timely registered while 23.7 percent or 961 were late registered. Timely registered births were registered within the reglementary period of 30 days. These births were higher by 2,133 compared to late registered births.

Maragondon had the highest percentage of timely registered births with 85.7 percent or 24 out of 28 total registered births. This was followed by Silang with 84.3 percent or 263 out of 312 and Naic with 84.1 percent or 164 out of 195 registered births. On the other hand, Magallanes recorded the highest percentage of late registered births with 55.0 percent or 11 out of 20 registered births, followed by Rosario with 52.7 percent or 29 out of 55 and Alfonso with 39.3 percent or 11 out of 28 registered births.

Figure 1 shows that most of the babies born were from Filipino mother (4,038 or 99.6%) while 17 or 0.4% were babies with foreign mother. Births with Filipino mothers were higher by 4,021.

Figure 2 shows that most of the babies born were from Filipino father (3,752 or 92.5%). On the other hand, 303 or 7.5% were babies with foreign father. Births with Filipino fathers were higher by 3,449.

Figure 3 shows that the majority of the babies’ mother were residents of Cavite with a total of 3,979 while residents of other provinces were 76.

Figure 4 shows that majority of birth deliveries were single with a total of 4,014 of which 2,068 were males and 1,946 were females meanwhile twins had a total of 41 composed of 20 males and 21 females.

Summary

The Province of Cavite had recorded a total of 4,055 live births for the month of June 2024. Male births were predominant in the province. Overall, males (2,088) outnumbered females (1,967) by 121. The highest number of registered births came from the City of Bacoor and City of Dasmariñas with 656 and the least came from Ternate with 13 live births only. Timely registered births were higher than late registered births. There were also more live births with Filipino mothers and fathers than births with foreign fathers and mothers. Majority of the mothers were residents of Cavite and among the types of birth, single was the most common.
