City of Lucena recorded about 73 thousand housing units in 2020
Based on the 2020 Census of Population and Housing (CPH 2020), the City of Lucena recorded a total of 73,821 housing units. Of this total 63,782 (86.4%) were occupied by households/household population as of May 1, 2020. In 2015, out of the 61,270 housing units, 57,743 (94.2%) were occupied.
Between 2020 and 2015, the number of occupied housing units increased by 6,039 or 10.5 percent.
Occupancy rate was posted at 86.4 percent in the City of Lucena
The occupancy rate or the ratio of the total occupied housing units to the total number of housing units in 2020 was posted at 86.4 percent. The occupancy rate in 2015 was higher at 94.2 percent. This means that there were more vacant housing units in 2020 compared to 2015.

Gulang-gulang had the most number of occupied housing units
Among the barangays in the City of Lucena, Gulang-gulang had the highest number of occupied housing units at 6,630 (10.4%). Ibabang Dupay followed with 6,614 occupied housing units (10.4%). Ibabang Iyam came in third with 6,360 occupied housing units (10.0%). Barangay 6 (Pob.) recorded the least number of occupied housing units with 150 (0.2%).
There were 105 households per 100 occupied housing units in the City of Lucena
A total of 66,905 households were recorded in the City of Lucena in 2020. This translates to 105 households in every 100 occupied housing units, lower than the ratio recorded in 2015 which is 112 households per 100 occupied housing units.
The household population of the City of Lucena was recorded at 278,347 in 2020. This is equivalent to 4.4 persons per occupied housing unit, lower than the 4.6 persons recorded in 2015.
