Number of Deaths… 
There were 15,439 registered deaths in Quezon for the year 2023. It recorded an increase of 6.4 percent from the previous year’s figure of 14,508. 
The daily average of death occurrences during the year was 42 or approximately two deaths per hour.

Deaths by Sex… 
There were more male deaths (8,755 or 56.7%) than female deaths (6,684 or 43.3%) registered during the year. 
The death sex ratio was calculated at 131 males for every 100 females in 2023.

Deaths by Month of Occurrence… 
January (1,515 or 9.8 percent) and May (1,421 or 9.2 percent) recorded the highest death toll while the lowest was noted in September (1,106 or 7.2 percent).


January recorded the highest daily average of 49 deaths, followed by November and May with 47 and 46 deaths per day, respectively. 
Daily index of more than 100 indicates a daily average higher than the overall figure at the provincial level.  
Four months of the year had daily indices above 100.

Deaths by Place of Occurrence and Usual Place of Residence… 
Lucena City recorded the most number of registered deaths at 4,124 or 26.7 percent. This may be explained by its large population and the health facilities available in the city. 
The municipality of Candelaria had the second-highest number of registered deaths with 1,047 or 6.8 percent, followed by Lopez and Sariaya, both with 739 deaths or 4.8 percent. 
There were 2,559 deaths that occurred outside the usual place of residence of the deceased. 
Lucena City recorded the highest number of deaths (1,987) that occurred outside the usual residence of the deceased. It was followed by Infanta (151) and Candelaria (126). 
Majority of the rest of the municipalities and city of the province registered higher number of deaths by usual residence than the number of deaths by place of occurrence.

There were 15,439 registered deaths in Quezon for the year 2023. It recorded an increase of 6.4 percent from the previous year’s figure of 14,508.

There were 1,260 registered deaths in Quezon in December 2023. It recorded a decrease of 10.4 percent from the previous month’s figure of 1,406.

DEATH STATISTICS IN QUEZON: November 2023 (Preliminary Results)

There were 1,406 registered deaths in Quezon in November 2023. It recorded an increase of 16.5 percent from the previous month’s figure of 1,207.
