Number of Marriages… A total of 184 marriages were registered in Quezon in August 2020. It recorded a decrease of 32.4 percent from the previous month’s total of 272. The daily average of registered marriages during the month was 6, lower than the recorded daily average of 9 in July. Marriages by Place of Occurrence… Unisan (22 or 12.0 percent) had the highest number of registered marriages. It was followed by Lucena City (20 or 10.9 percent). Sariaya (17 or 9.2 percent), San Narciso (16 or 8.7 percent), Pagbilao (12 or 6.5 percent) recorded the next highest registered marriages. Around 56.1 percent of the 41 municipalities/cities in the province registered less than 10 marriage occurrences during the month. There was no marriage event recorded in the municipalities of Agdangan, Alabat, Dolores, Jomalig, Patnanungan, Perez, Pitogo, Plaridel, Polillo, Quezon, Real and San Andres. Marriages by Type of Ceremony… The most number of registered marriages were solemnized under civil ceremonies, with 107 or 58.2 percent. Marriages performed under church rites totaled 51 accounting for 27.7 percent of the total registered marriages. There were three (3) marriage events celebrated under Muslim rites equivalent to 1.6 percent. Marriages celebrated under other types of ceremonies comprised 12.5 percent. Marriages by Age Group of Groom and Bride… The highest recorded number of brides and grooms belonged to age group 25-29 years, with 81 or 44.0 percent and 87 or 47.3 percent of the total, respectively. There were eight (8) teenage brides and no teen groom in August 2020.
