Certified Public Accountants (CPAs) Attend GACPA 40th National Convention and Seminar in Cebu City

Twenty CPAs from PSA Central Office and Field Offices attended the 40th Annual Convention and Seminar held in Waterfront Hotel in Cebu City on May 23-26, 2018. The said seminar will earn the accountants 22 credit-units of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to comply with the requirements of the Board of Accountancy (BOA) and/or Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC) in the renewal of CPA license. PSA IV-A’s former Accountant III and designated OIC-CRASD Wilma A. Villafuerte attended the said seminar. This year’s theme is “Sustaining Unity in Nation-building through Service, Harmony and Innovation to Nurture Economy (SUNSHINE)”. Among the topics discussed were: a) CPD Updates b) Data Analytics c) role of Internal Control Standards in improving control systems in the Public Sector d) ASEAN integration of Accountants e) TRAIN Law f) Revised IRR of RA 9184, among others. The convention was a success as evidenced by thousands of participants and positive feedbacks on the topics presented and the expertise of the resource persons from different government agencies.
