[LipaCity,Batangas] - As part of the Philippine Statistics Authority – Regional Statistical Services Office IV-A’s Partnership and Linkages with its stakeholders, the PSA successfully hosted a work immersion program to three SHS students of the Lipa City Science Integrated National High School (LCSINHS). Scholars Ma. Cassandra Carreon, Saphia Gwaneth Medrano, and Seth Gatdula “immersed” themselves with the PSA for 80 working hours. During the two-week immersion, the students got a glimpse and taste of the mandates and processes of the PSA, as they were tasked to prepare IEC materials on the various statistical surveys and projects, on National ID, and provided assistance in Civil Registration functions.

After the duration of the work immersion program, PSA Chief Administrative Officer Ms. Wilma A. Villafuerte, together with Administrative Assistant Ms. Sophia Joy Madrigallos, attended the Partnership Convergence and Capstone Colloquium activity conducted by the LCSINHS on 27 March, where the school acknowledged the contribution of their partner institutions in providing actual hands-on work-life experience to their students.

The PSA IV-A is one of the eleven partner institutions of the LCSINHS in providing immersion (on-the-job) experience to the scholars, with the goal of bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge gained in school and application in real-work situations. It is the second year of the PSA’s participation in this endeavor.
