Rizal CPI Special Release June 2023 Provincial inflation between June 2022 and June 2023 is shown in this figure. This is the fifth consecutive month of deceleration in the province. Despite the decline, the inflation rate in June 2022 was still lower at 6.8 percent A decline in Rizal’s inflation rate was observed from 7.6 percent in May 2023 to 7.1 percent in June 2023.The inflation rate was 6.8 percent in June 2022. The main contributor for the upward trend of June 2023 inflation was the 30.7 percent increase in the indices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco. Furthermore, 12.7 percent goes to restaurants and accommodation services, 10.8 percent to health, 9.8 percent to personal care, miscellaneous goods and services and 9.7 percent to alcoholic beverages and tobacco. Also contributing to the uptrend in the overall inflation were the higher annual increases in the indices of the following commodity groups: a. Furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance, 7.5 percent; b. Transport, 6.9 percent; c. Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and Other Fuels, 5.7 percent; d. Recreation, sport and culture, 3.7 percent and; e. Clothing and footwear 2.1 percent Price situation in Rizal increased by 0.4 index from 125.5 to 125.9 on a month-to-month basis. Alcoholic Beverages and tobacco, as well as food services and accommodation, contributed to this month’s inflation with 3.2 and 2.1 points, respectively. Lower indices were also observed in Personal Care, Miscellaneous Goods and Services with 0.8, Housing Water, Electricity, and other Fuels with 0.5, Furnishings, Household Equipment and Routine Household Maintenance and Clothing and footwear with 0.4, with 0.3 index points. Food and non-Alcohol beverages, Health, Information and Communication, Education Services, Restaurant and Accommodation services and Financial Services remain unchanged.
