Cavite Building Construction: December 2022 (Preliminary)

This special release provides data on approved building permits that covers all municipalities and cities for the construction of residential and non-residential structures, additions/repairs, renovation, and demolitions in the Province of Cavite that occurred during the month of December 2022. Data gathered from approved building permits of various Local government offices of the province were generated for the purpose of calculating the national income accounts and estimating the level of construction activity. The total number of buildings constructed for the month of December 2022 was 1,994. Table 1 shows that among the 23 City/Municipality Trece Martires City had the most number of buildings built with 1,219 buildings. This was followed by City of Gen. Trias and City of Dasmarinas with 137 and 121 constructions, respectively. Also showed significant numbers of construction were City of Imus with 119 and City of Bacoor with 137 construction. The Municipalities of Magallanes Mendez-Nunez, Noveleta and Ternate recorded the least buildings constructed for the month of December with only one constructions. The Municipalities of Maragondon and Gen. E. Aguinaldo also recorded fewer number of projects with two and six buildings constructed. As shown in table 1, the City of Trece Martires also got the highest Floor area Value for the month of December 2022, with a total of 55,320 sqm for Floor Area and 572,232 for Value (PHP1,000). This was followed by City of Gen. Trias with a Floor area of 21,753 sqm and 210,077 for Value (PHP1,000) and City of Dasmarinas with a total floor area of 14,164 sqm and 180,618 for Value (PHP1,000). Figure 1 shows that the total building built during the month of December 2022 were 1,994 buildings. Eight percent or 138 of the total number of buildings constructed were non-residential, while 92.0% or 1,579 total were residential. As shown in Figure 2, the majority of buildings built in December 2022 were new construction residential/non-residential, with 1,994 buildings, followed by additions with 230 and alterations and repairs with the least number of 47 construction projects. Table 2 Shows that City of Imus had the most construction with 70 new constructions, followed by City of Gen. Trias and City of Bacoor with 67 and 26 addition construction, respectively. Municipality of Tanza and City of Dasmariñas with 21 and 20 newly constructed buildings respectively. The municipalities of Alfonso, Gen. E. Aguinaldo, Indang, Magallanes, Maragondon Mendez Nunez, Naic, Noveleta, Tagaytay City, and Ternate have no reported new construction projects for the month of December 2022. Based on table 2, the City of Gen. Trias recorded the highest value (PHP 1,000) with a total of 3,526 sqm for the Floor area and 34,237 for Value in additional construction for the month of December 2022. This was followed by City of Imus with a total floor area of 2,392 sqm and City of Bacoor with 1,725 sqm. City of Gen. Trias and City of Bacoor recorded the highest values, with 19,288 and 23,666 respectively. Table 3 showed the City of Bacoor registered the most alterations and repairs with 17 alteration and repairs, followed by the cities of Dasmarinas with 6 while Imus and Carmona, both 5 constructions. Also recorded high numbers of alteration and repairs construction were City of Gen . Trias and Municipality of Tanza with both 4 reported alteration repair. For the month of December 2022, the Municipality/Cities of Alfonso, Cavite City, Indang, Kawit, Magallanes, Mendez-Nunez, Naic, Noveleta, Rosario, Silang and Gen. M. Alvarez have no recorded alteration. Municipality of Maragondon registered the highest value for construction on alterations and repairs for the month of December 2022 with 24,838 as a whole for Value (PHP1,000), followed by City of Bacoor and Municipality of Tanza with 17,156 and 8,292 respectively. Summary The total number of buildings under construction in the province for the month of December was 1,994 building 92 percent of the 1,717 buildings or 1,579 of them were residential structures this month, 138 non-residential ones were built making up 8% of the total. Most of the building constructed were residential with 92% or 1,579. Trece Martires City had the most buildings built with 1,219 buildings, total floor area with a total of 55,320 sqm and a value of 572,232 (PHP1000).Municipality of Ternate got the least of floor area and value with only 0 sqm and 500 value. For addition of construction City of Imus got the highest with 70 new construction and city/municipalities of Alfonso, Gen. Aguinaldo,Indang, Magallanes, Maragondon, Mendez-Nunez, Naic, Noveleta, Tagaytay City and Ternate have no recorded new construction. City of Bacoor got the highest number for alteration and repair construction with 17 alteration and repairs while the cities/municipalities of Alfonso, Cavite City, Indang, Kawit, Magallanes, Mendez- Nunez, Naic, Noveleta, Rosario, Silang and Gen. M. Alvarez have no recorded alterations. The combined floor area of all building types as of December 2022 was 173,039 square meters, with a total investment of Php 1,917,766.
