PRESS RELEASE Highlights of City of Sto. Tomas 2020 Census of Population and Housing (2020 CPH) • The population of City of Sto. Tomas as of 01 May 2020 is 218,500 based on the 2020 Census of Population and Housing (2020 CPH). This accounts for about 7.51 percent of Batangas population in 2020. • The 2020 population of City of Sto. Tomas is higher by 38,656 from the population of 179,844 in 2015, and 93,760 more than the population of 124,740 in 2010. Moreover, it is higher by 138,107 compared with the population of 80,393 in 2000. (Table 1) • The population of City of Sto. Tomas increased by 4.18 percent annually from 2015 to 2020. By comparison, the rate at which the population of the city/municipality grew from 2010 to 2015 was higher at 7.21 percent. (Table 2) • Among the thirty (30) barangays of City of Sto. Tomas, San Vicente had the biggest population in 2020 with 23,335 persons, followed by Santa Anastacia with 19,442 persons, San Miguel with 18,959 persons, Santa Maria with 17,998 persons, and San Antonio with 16,754 persons. (Table 3) • Santa Ana was the fastest growing barangay in the city/municipality with an annual population growth rate (PGR) of 15.25 percent from 2015 to 2020. It was followed by San Vicente with a PGR of 14.30, San Miguel with 14.20 percent, Santa Teresita with 14.00 percent, and Santa Elena with 10.87 percent. Santa Maria posted the lowest barangay PGR of - 8.77. (Table 4) • City of Sto. Tomas is composed of 30 barangays. • Among barangays of City of Sto. Tomas, the largest in terms of population size is San Vicente with 23,335 persons. It was followed by Santa Anastacia with 19,442 persons, San Miguel with 18,959 persons, Santa Maria with 17,998 persons, and San Antonio with 16,754 persons. (Table 5) • Barangay I (Pob.) has the smallest population with 1,897 persons, followed by Barangay III (Pob.) with 2,175 persons, San Agustin with 2,311 persons, Santa Teresita with 2,351 persons and Barangay II (Pob.) with 2,383 persons. In the tenth place for least populous barangay is San Fernando with 3,118 persons. (Table 6)
