Number of Deaths… There were 13,636 registered deaths in Quezon for the year 2020. It recorded a decrease of 2.6 percent from the previous year’s figure of 13,997.  The daily average of death occurrences during the year was 37 or approximately two deaths per hour. Deaths by Sex… There were more male deaths (7,814 or 57.3 percent) than female deaths (5,822 or 42.7 percent) registered during the year.  The death sex ratio was calculated at 134 males for every 100 females in 2020. Deaths by Month of Occurrence… January (1,361 or 10.0 percent) and December (1,325 or 9.7 percent) recorded the highest death tolls while the lowest was noted in April ( 813 or 6.0 percent). January recorded the highest daily average of 44 deaths. It was followed by September and December both with 43 deaths per day.  Daily index of more than 100 indicates a daily average higher than the overall figure at the provincial level.  Half of the months of the year had daily indices above 100. Deaths by Age-group… The bulk of registered deaths belonged to age group 60 and over with a total of 8,025. This comprised 58.9 percent or more than half of the total deaths recorded for the year.  Age group 55-59 years old accounted for the next highest death toll of 1,172 or 8.6 percent.
