Birth Statistics: November 2018 Quezon (Preliminary Results)

Vital registration is a continuous process. Hence there is a need to specify certain cut-off period for purposes of reporting. The Birth Statistics in Quezon presented in this report contains highlights and summary of statistical tables of births that occurred on or before November 2018 and registered within the said month. Events that occurred in November 2018 but were not registered during the month were not included in this publication. For this report, Decentralized Vital Statistics System (DVSS) 2011 was used in data encoding. In the generation of DVSS tables however, CSPro 6.2 was utilized. Live births… A total of 3,759 live births were registered in the province in November 2018. It recorded a decrease of 17.0 percent from the October figure of 4,529. The daily average of birth occurrences during the month was 125. Of the total births registered, 52.1 percent were males and 47.9 percent were females. This resulted to a birth sex ratio of 109 males for every 100 females. Lucena City recorded the highest number of live births with a total of 1,035 or 27.5 percent of the total births registered in the province. It was followed by Lopez with a total of 299 or 8.0 percent. The least number of registered births was observed in the municipality of Sampaloc with only one (1) or 0.03 percent. Attendant at birth... The 3,002 (79.9 percent) birth deliveries were attended to by medically trained personnel such as physicians, nurses and midwives. Among the medically trained personnel, physicians attended to the most number of deliveries with 1,814 or 48.3 percent of the total births registered. The number of birth occurrences delivered by the traditional birth attendants and those without medical training was 750 or 20.0 percent of the total. Four municipalities in the province recorded higher number of live births attended to by traditional birth attendants compared to those attended to by health professionals. The municipality of San Francisco (84.8 percent) topped the list of areas with high percentage of birth deliveries attended to by non-health professionals. A total of 3,214 live births were registered in the province in March 2024. It recorded a decrease of 2.6 percent from the February 2024 figure of 3,301.
A total of 3,685 live births were registered in the province in January 2024. It recorded an increase of 8.5 percent from the December 2023 figure of 3,397.
