This special release presents statistical data on births occurring for the month of April 2024 in the Province of Cavite. This publication shows the disaggregated data of live births by sex and by registration status down to city/municipal level. It also presents the total registered live births by nationality of father and mother, usual residence of the mother, and type of birth. The civil registry documents transmitted by the Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs) to Cavite Provincial Office for machine processing served as the source of data in preparation of this publication.
Births in Cavite
Table 1 shows that there were 4,989 registered live births in the Province of Cavite for the month of April 2024. Male births accounted for 51.3 percent or 2,558 of the total births while female births accounted for 48.7 percent or 2,431. Males were higher by 127 than females. Six (6) cities and nine (9) municipalities recorded more male births than females. These were as follows: Cities of Bacoor, Carmona, General Trias, Imus, Tagaytay City and Trece Martires City and municipalities of General Emilio Aguinaldo, Indang, Kawit, Naic, Noveleta, Rosario, Silang, Ternate, and General Mariano Alvarez.
The City of Dasmariñas recorded the highest registered live births with 793 composed of 388 males and 405 females. This was followed by City of Bacoor and Trece Martires City with 742 and 650 registered live births, respectively. The least registered live births were recorded in Ternate 13, followed by Magallanes and Amadeo with 23 and 27 live births, respectively.
Table 2 shows that 71.7 percent or 3,575 were timely registered and 28.3 percent or 1,414 were late registered. Timely registered births were registered within the reglementary period of 30 days. These births were higher by 2,161 compared to late registered births.
Naic had the highest percentage of timely registered births with 82.2 percent or 213 out of 259 total registered births. This was followed by City of Carmona with 81.0 percent or 34 out of 42 total registered births and Tagaytay City with 80.5 percent or 62 out of 77 total registered births. On the other hand, Alfonso recorded the highest percentage of late registered births with 82.1 percent or 32 out of 39 registered births, followed by Rosario with 66.3 or 69 out of 104 and Magallanes with 65.2 percent or 15 out of 23 registered births.
Figure 1 shows that most of the babies born were from Filipino parents (4,979 or 99.8%) and 10 or 0.2% were babies with one (1) foreign parent. Births with Filipino parents were higher by 4,969.
Figure 2 shows that the majority of the babies’ mother were residents of Cavite with a total of 4,870 while residents of other provinces were 119.
Figure 3 shows that majority of birth deliveries were single with a total of 4,955 of which 2,538 were males and 2,417 were females. It was followed by twins with 31 composed of 17 males and 14 females. There were 3 births under triplets or more.
Summary
The Province of Cavite had recorded a total of 4,989 live births for the month of April 2024. Male births were predominant in the province. Overall, males outnumbered females by 127. The highest number of registered births came from the City of Dasmariñas with 793 and the least came from Ternate with 13 live births only. Timely registered births were higher than late registered births. There were also more live births with Filipino parents than births with one (1) foreign parent. Majority of the mothers were residents of Cavite and among the types of birth, single was the most common.
