This special release presents statistical data on births occurring for the month of January 2024 in the Province of Cavite. This publication shows the disaggregated data of live births by sex and by registration status down to city/municipal level. It also presents the total registered live births by nationality of father and mother, usual residence of the mother, and type of birth. The civil registry documents transmitted by the Local Civil Registry Offices (LCROs) to Cavite Provincial Office for machine processing served as the source of data in preparation of this publication.
Births in Cavite
Table 1 shows that there were 5,222 registered live births in the Province of Cavite for the month of January 2024. Male births accounted for 51.0 percent or 2,664 of the total births while female births accounted for 49.0 percent or 2,558. Males were higher by 106 than females. Five (5) cities and ten (10) municipalities recorded more male births than females. These were as follows: Cities of Bacoor, Carmona, Dasmariñas, Imus, and Tagaytay City and municipalities of Alfonso, General Emilio Aguinaldo, Indang, Kawit, Magallanes, Mendez, Naic, Noveleta, Rosario and Tanza. The same number of male and female births were recorded in Amadeo.
The City of Bacoor recorded the highest registered live births with 871 composed of 446 males and 425 females. This was followed by City of Dasmariñas and Trece Martires City with 830 and 694 registered live births, respectively. The least registered live births were recorded in Alfonso with 15, followed by Amadeo and Ternate with 18 and 20 live births, respectively.
Table 2 shows that 80.8 percent or 4,219 were timely registered and 19.2 percent or 1,003 were late registered. Timely registered births were registered within the reglementary period of 30 days. These births were higher by 3,216 compared to late registered births.
General Emilio Aguinaldo had the highest percentage of timely registered births with 91.7 percent or 22 out of 24 total registered births. This was followed by Tagaytay City with 87.9 percent or 80 out of 91 total registered births and Maragondon with 87.5 percent or 42 out of 48 total registered births. On the other hand, Ternate recorded the highest percentage of late registered births with 60.0 percent or 12 out of 20 registered births, followed by Magallanes with 54.2 percent or 13 out of 24 registered births and Mendez with 48.8% or 21 out of 43 registered births.
Figure 1 shows that 5,215 or 99.9 percent were babies with Filipino parents and 7 or 0.1 percent were babies with one (1) foreign parent. Births with Filipino parents were higher by 5,208.
Figure 2 shows that the majority of the babies’ mother were residents of Cavite with a total of 5,128 while residents of other provinces were 94.
Figure 3 shows that majority of birth deliveries were single with a total of 5,188 of which 2,644 were males and 2,544 were females. It was followed by twins with 34 composed of 20 males and 14 females.
Summary
The Province of Cavite had recorded a total of 5,222 live births for the month of January 2024. Male births were predominant in the province. Overall, males outnumbered females by 106. The highest number of registered births came from the City of Bacoor with 871 and the least came from Alfonso with 15 live births only. Timely registered births were higher than late registered births. There were also more live births with Filipino parents than births with one (1) foreign parent. Majority of the mothers were residents of Cavite and among the types of birth, single was the most common.
