PSA will conduct the 2023 National Information and Communications Technology Household Survey (2023 NICTHS) in February 2024. The survey aims to track key household and individual ICT indicators to help monitor the broad development impact of ICT in the country.

NICTHS was first conducted by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) in 2019 through the Philippine Statistical Research and Training Institute (PSRTI). The PSA, being the central statistical authority of the Philippine government on primary data collection, will implement the 2023 NICTHS.

The 2023 NICTHS aims to generate updated benchmarks for key ICT indicators. Data to be gathered in this survey includes ICT use and access, ICT skills, Digital Economy, Technology Enabled Incidents, E-waste, SIM Card Registration, and others. These will be used to provide policymakers and stakeholders with accurate and up-to-date information on ICT access and use among households in the Philippines and measure the impact of the ICT sector in the country’s social and economic development. Moreover, ICT statistics are critical in identifying strategies for improving e-government services and its policy development, planning and monitoring process.

There are 641 sample households/housing units in Quezon to be covered for this survey, adopting the 2023 Geo-Enabled Master Sample. These are located in seventeen (17) sample municipalities and one city of the province. With this, PSA Quezon hired eight (8) Statistical Researchers (SRs) for the conduct of the said survey that will run from February 5 until March 6, 2024. Also, Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing (CAPI) data collection method will be employed for this survey using android tablets.

Provincial Statistics Officer Airene A. Pucyutan of PSA - Quezon enjoins everyone, especially the sample households to support this statistical activity by providing accurate and complete information to the authorized data collectors of PSA. The information collected shall be treated with utmost confidentiality as mandated under Section 26 of the Republic Act 10625.
