This report presents the Headline Inflation Rate (IR) for all income households in the province of Cavite during the month of July 2025.

Inflation Rate (IR) is the annual rate of change or the year-on-year change of the CPI expressed in percent. Inflation is interpreted in terms of declining purchasing power of money.

The headline inflation rate in the Province of Cavite was reported at 2.3 percent in July 2025, an increase of 0.6 percentage points from 1.7 percent in the previous month (see Table 1 and Figure 1).

The acceleration of the province’s inflation rate in July 2025 was primarily driven by the increase in the annual growth rate of the Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas, and Other Fuels index, which rose to 3.5 percent, from 2.3 percent in June 2025. This commodity group alone contributed 40.8 percent to the overall inflation rate in July. Additional upward pressure on overall inflation came from increases in the indices of the following commodity groups:
• Transport, -1.4 percent to -0.3 percent
• Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages, 1.2 percent to 1.5 percent
• Alcohol Beverages and Tobacco, 1.6 percent to 5.6 percent
• Health, 1.1 percent to 2.0 percent
• Information and Communication, 0.2 percent to 0.5 percent
• Furnishing, Household Equipment and Routine Household Maintenance, 1.2percent to 1.6 percent
• Personal Care, and Miscellaneous Goods and Services, 1.9 percent to 2.1 percent

• Education Services, 13.6 percent from 13.2 percent

Moreover, the commodity groups Restaurants and Accommodation Services (3.7 percent) and Financial Services (0.0 percent) were stable this month.

The food inflation rate increased from 1.2 percent in June 2025 to 1.4 percent in July 2025, reflecting a 0.2 percentage point gain. This indicates that food prices continued to rise at a slightly faster pace in July compared to June (see Table 3).

In July 2025, overall food inflation in Cavite increased, primarily driven by higher annual growth rates in several major food groups. The most significant increase was observed in the Fish and other seafood group, which rose from 4.1 percent in June to 6.4 percent in July. Other food groups that contributed to the upward trend included:
• Milk, other dairy products and eggs, 7.3 percent to 8.7 percent
• Oils and fats, 5.7 percent to 6.4 percent
• Sugar, confectionery and desserts, -0.9 percent to -0.8 percent.
• Vegetables, tubers, plantains, cooking bananas and pulses, -7.5 percent to -7.4percent

On the other hand, the increase in food inflation was partially offset by declines in the annual growth rates of certain food groups, including:
• Fruits and nuts, 9.1 percent from 13.7 percent
• Ready-made food and other food products n.e.c., 1.8 percent from 3.1 percent
• Cereals and cereal products, -9.0 percent from -8.4 percent
