Statistics on deaths that occurred in the Province of Cavite during the month of February 2024 are provided in this special release. This document has been divided down into city/municipal level data disaggregated by sex and registration status. Also, it displays the total number of deaths registered whether infant or fetal death. The data used to prepare this publication was obtained from the civil registration documents in which the Local Civil registration Offices (LCROs) submitted to the Cavite Provincial Statistical Office for evaluating, editing and undergo into machine processing.
DEATHS IN CAVITE
Table 1 shows that the Province of Cavite recorded 1,728 deaths for the month of February 2024. A total of 997 men and 731 women died during the month. Compared to female deaths, male deaths were higher by 266. Relatively, majority of the cities and municipalities reported more male deaths than female deaths except for Alfonso with 13 male deaths and 16 female deaths, General Emilio Aguinaldo with 4 male deaths and 8 female deaths and Magallanes with 2 male deaths and 5 female deaths.
Furthermore, the most reported deaths in Cavite were recorded in the City of Dasmariñas with 299, followed by the City of Bacoor with 191 and City of Imus with 173.
Table 2 shows that majority of the deaths were timely registered with 1,698 or 98 percent while thirty-one (31) with late registered.
The City of Imus was the highest among the 23 cities/municipalities in the province five (5) late registered deaths. No late registration was reported in the municipalities of Alfonso, General Emilio Aguinaldo, General Mariano Alvarez (GMA), Indang, Kawit, Magallanes, Maragondon, Mendez, Noveleta, Rosario, Tanza and Ternate, and Cities of Carmona and Cavite City.
Table 3 showed the Types of Deaths registered in the province of Cavite for the month of February 2024. The number of deaths reported for Infant was 56 or 3.24 percent of the total registered deaths. This type of death refers to the death of the infant between 1 day to 1 year of age. However, 29 or 1.68 percent recorded for fetal death. This type of death is considered for the fetus that had intra-uterine life of less than seven months and died within 24 hours after its complete delivery from the maternal womb. No record of death reported for maternal. This type of death defines as the death of a pregnant mother due to complications related to pregnancy.
Furthermore, in terms of type of death, most reported in the province were recorded in Trece Martires City with a total of 12 for Infant and 8 for Fetal.
Moreover, City of Dasmariñas registered the highest number of deaths with 339, followed by City of Bacoor and City of Imus with 218 and 170 deaths, respectively. The least number of registered deaths were in the municipality of Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo with only nine (9) recorded deaths.
SUMMARY
There were 1,728 deaths that were officially reported in the Province of Cavite during the month of February 2024. With 266 more male deaths than female. The City of Dasmariñas had the highest number of deaths reported with 339, while General Emilio Aguinaldo had the fewest deaths reported with only nine (9). Compared to late registered deaths, timely registered deaths had a high rate of 98 percent. No late registered deaths in two (2) cities and 12 municipalities. No maternal death reported during the month of February 2024.
