Birth Statistics: In the fourth quarter, most births occurred in October with 4,296 (34.29 %) of the total births recorded in the province. It was followed by the month of November with 4,239 (33.84%). The month of December had the least number of births in the fourth quarter. More males (6,364 or 50.8%) were born than females (6,164 or 49.2%) which resulted in a sex ratio of 103males per 100 females. Moreover, more than half 6,694 or 55.43 % of the total registered births in the fourth quarter were born out of wedlock. The three cities that recorded the highest number of illegitimate children were Lipa 1,274, Batangas 910 and Tanauan 569. Marriage Statistics: There was a recorded increased in registered marriages by 1.24 percent from 3,554 in 2020 to 3,598 in 2021. The number of registered marriages contracted between 2020 and 2021 of October to December increased in most cities/municipalities except for San Luis reported the highest decrease (20%), followed by San Pascual (19%) and San Nicolas(12%). Lipa City recorded the highest number of reported marriages of 545 which is 15.1 percent of the total marriages in the province in 2021. Cities of Batangas and Nasugbu followed with 341 (9.5%) and 279 (7.8%) marriages, respectively. The least number of marriages was recorded in Tingloy at 9 (0.3%). Death Statistics Reported deaths in the fourth quarter reached6,301. The figure showed an increase of 1,482 or 30.75 percent higher than the previous year’s 4,819 deaths. In the fourth quarter, an average of 69 persons died daily. This translates to 3 deaths per hour. The top five cities/municipalities in terms of number of deaths were Batangas with 1,031 or 16.36 percent of the total deaths. Lipa with 786 (12.47%), Nasugbu 366 (5.81%), Lemery with 365 (5.79%) and City of Tanauan with 354 (5.62%).Moreover, combined share of these five cities/municipalities was 46.06 percent of the total deaths.
