Based on the result of 2020 Census of Population and Housing (2020 CPH), Quezon Province (excluding Lucena City) had a total of 1,950,459 persons as of May 1, 2020. Of this figure, the household population comprised 1,945,444 persons accounting for 99.7 percent. Of the total 1,945,444 household population in 2020, 988,919 (50.8 percent) were males while 956,525 (49.2 percent) were females. By age group, 624,499 persons (32.1 percent) were under 15 years of age (young dependents), while persons aged 15 to 64 years (working-age or economically active population) totaled 1,210,601 (62.2 percent). The remaining 110,344 persons (5.7 percent) were aged 65 years and over (old dependents). In addition, there were more males (88.1 percent) than females (85.8 percent) among the 0 to 54 years age group. Meanwhile, for older age group (55 years and over) females (14.2 percent) outnumbered the males (11.9 percent) in 2020. The same trend was observed in 2015. Sex ratio stands at 103 males per 100 females The sex ratio in the province of Quezon was computed at 103 in 2020. This means that there were 103 males for every 100 females. This is lower compared to the sex ratio (104) recorded in 2015. In 2020, children aged below 15 years had a sex ratio of 107 males per every 100 females, while those aged 15 - 64 years old had a sex ratio of 105 males per 100 females. On the other hand, for those aged 65 years and over, the sex ratio was 71 males per 100 females. This implies a higher mortality rate among males than females or a longer life expectancy among females than males in the older age groups. Median age increases to 24.5 years The median age in Quezon province was computed at 24.5 years, which means that half of the household population was younger than 24.5 years, while the other half was older than 24.5 years. This is higher than the median age of 23.7 posted in 2015. Dependency ratio is 61 dependents per 100 persons in the working age-group The dependency ratio in Quezon province was computed at 61, which indicates that for every 100 working-age population, there were about 61 dependents (52 young dependents and 9 old dependents).
