This figure shows the provincial inflation from April 2022 to April 2023. Rizal's inflation rate slowed down further to 7.7 percent in April 2023, from 8.8 percent in March 2023. In April 2022, the inflation rate was lower at 6.1 percent. The main source of the upward trend of April 2023 inflation was the higher annual rates in the indices of alcoholic beverages and tobacco, transport, restaurant and accommodation services and food and non-alcoholic beverages with 24.3, 12.1, 11.8 and 11.3 percent, respectively. Also contributing to the uptrend in the overall inflation were the higher annual increases in the indices of the following commodity groups: a. Health, 10.9 percent; b. Personal Care, and Miscellaneous Goods and Services, 9.3 percent; c. Furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance, 7.6 percent; d. Recreation, sport and culture, 3.6 percent ; and e. Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and Other Fuels, 3.5 percent Commodity Groups The price situation in Rizal declined by -0.2 index from 125.1 to 124.9 level on a month-to-month basis. The main drivers of this month's deceleration in inflation were decreases in Food and Alcoholic Beverages, Housing Water, Electricity and Other Fuels, and Transport indexes, with decreases of -0.3, -0.8, and -0.2 respectively. Lower indices were also observed in Personal Care, Miscellaneous Goods and Services with 0.5, Furnishings, Household Equipment and Routine Household Maintenance with 0.4 and Recreation Sport and Culture Health with 0.3 index difference. Information and Communication, Education Services, Restaurant and Accommodation services and Financial Services remain unchanged.
