12 September 2024 – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Region IV-A successfully conducted a Local Government Unit (LGU) National ID Authentication Services Webinar via Zoom, with 58 participants representing different LGUs from the CALABARZON region in attendance.

The event aimed to provide an overview of the National ID Authentication Services and eVerify system, which will facilitate the seamless verification and authentication of the Philippine Identification (PhilID) credentials for citizens. This initiative is in line with the PSA's ongoing commitment to improving public services and ensuring the successful implementation of the Philippine Identification System (PhilSys).

Key speakers during the webinar included PSA IV-A Regional Director Charito C. Armonia, who delivered the welcome message, and Resource Speaker RO III Juliedin B. Nohay, who presented detailed discussions on the formats, acceptance, and integration of the National ID, including the new Digital National ID. Mr. Christian E. Espiritu, PhilSys Focal Person from PSA Laguna, conducted a session on the National ID Check, followed by a comprehensive presentation on the National ID Authentication Service and eVerify by PDO II Christian Comandante from the PSA Public Advocacy Unit – Use Case Development and Management Service.

The webinar concluded with an open forum, where participants engaged in a productive discussion on concerns regarding the National ID system. PSA IV-A representative’s addressed questions and shared insights on enhancing LGU processes for ID authentication and eVerification. 
The PSA remains committed to strengthening its collaboration with LGUs to ensure the smooth and effective use of PhilID services, contributing to the broader goal of building a secure and reliable identity system for all Filipinos.
