The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Region IV-A has intensified efforts to register indigent senior citizens under the National ID system, in line with the government’s directive to streamline the distribution of social pension benefits.

As of July 31, 2025, PSA provincial offices in CALABARZON have successfully registered over 15,000 indigent senior citizens. This initiative follows a memorandum issued by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), mandating the use of the National ID as the primary valid proof of identity for social pensioners starting September 1, 2025.

The directive aims to ensure a more efficient and secure implementation of the Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizens Program (SPISCP), minimizing the risks of identity fraud and duplication in the delivery of government assistance.

To support this initiative, PSA CALABARZON, in close coordination with Local Government Units (LGUs) and local social welfare offices, launched a series of National ID registration activities beginning in May 2025. These include on-site registration drives in city, municipal or barangay halls; mobile registration units deployed to remote and underserved areas; and assisted registration services for homebound or mobility-impaired senior citizens.

PSA CALABARZON remains committed to ensuring that no senior citizen is left behind.

Senior citizens, their families, and caregivers are encouraged to coordinate with their respective LGUs or PSA provincial offices to schedule their registration.
