PRESS RELEASE: PSA Quezon Conducts the 2023 First Quarter Fisheries Survey

Philippine Statistics Authority Quezon is conducting the 2023 First Quarter Fisheries Survey for three (3) subsectors namely commercial, municipal and aquaculture to generate volume and value of production by species at the provincial level. The Fisheries Survey is a nationwide quarterly survey conducted by PSA, to gather data as input to the compilation of national accounts, and estimate the value of production in agriculture and fisheries. Moreover, the result of this survey are also used for policy making and program implementation on fisheries. To cover the 20 sample municipal landing centers, four (4) sample commercial landing centers, 448 sample aquafarms, and 147 sample households in the province, Quezon Provincial Statistical Office hired and trained the 29 statistical researchers who will conduct the personal interview. The survey will utilize a Pen-and-Paper Personal Interview (PAPI) during the data collection period which will start on 13th day of March and run until the 25th of the same month. In line with this, Provincial Statistics Officer Airene A. Pucyutan, of PSA Quezon encourages the cooperation and support of the respondents to provide the accurate and reliable information in various surveys conducted by the PSA Quezon. She also ensures that all data gathered will be kept confidential pursuant to Section 26 of the Republic Act No. 10625 or “Philippine Statistical Act of 2013” and Article 55 of the Implementing Rules and Regulation of the same law.
