Starting today October 1, various activities related to the celebration of the national Statistics Month (NSM) will be conducted in the province to promote, enhance awareness and appreciation of the public on the importance of statistics in decision and policy making towards nation building. With the theme "Exploring Philippine Wonders in Numbers: Statistics Towards Sustainable Development Goas", The Philippine Statistics Authority - Quezon (PSA Quezon) has lined up 15 information dissemination activities to highlight the month long celebration. This year's theme reflects the relevance of statistics in achieving sustainable and progressive tourism growth for the country and emphasizes the need for statistics to identify potential tourism havens and also areas which require intervention. The activities of the 29th NSM in Quezon include forum, radio interviews, press conferences, statistical contents and seminars, among others. An opening ceremonies will kick off the celebration on October 1 with the launching of 29th NSM Interagency Statistical Exhibit at the Activity Center of Pacific Mall in Lucena City. The Interagency Statistical Exhibit will showcase the various statistics produced and gathered by the members of the 29th NSM interagency committee and PSA Quezon in line with their mandate and functions. The statistical exhibit will have a one week viewing by the publict at the said venue.
