Statistics on deaths that occurred in the Province of Cavite during the month of January 2024 are provided in this special release. This document has been divided down into city/municipal level data disaggregated by sex and registration status. Also, it displays the total number of deaths registered whether infant or fetal death. The data used to prepare this publication was obtained from the civil registration documents in which the Local Civil registration Offices (LCROs) submitted to the Cavite Provincial Statistical Office for evaluating, editing and undergo into machine processing.

DEATH IN CAVITE

Table 1 shows that the Province of Cavite recorded 2,198 deaths for the month of January 2024. A total of 1,211 men and 987 women died during the month. Compared to female deaths, male deaths were higher by 224. Relatively, majority of the cities and municipalities reported more male deaths than female deaths except for Mendez with 15 male deaths and 16 female deaths, Noveleta with 10 male deaths and 18 female deaths and Tanza with 70 male deaths and 85 female deaths. However, number of deaths for both men and women reported eight (8) each in General Emilio Aguinaldo.

Furthermore, the most reported deaths in Cavite were recorded in the City of Dasmariñas with 363, followed by the City of Bacoor with 232 and City of Imus with 219.

Table 2 shows that majority of the deaths were timely registered with 2,181 or 99 percent while seventeen (17) with late registered.

The City of Dasmariñas was the highest among the 23 cities/municipalities in the province with five (5) late registered deaths. No late registration was reported in the municipalities of Alfonso, Amadeo, General Emilio Aguinaldo, General Mariano Alvarez (GMA), Indang, Kawit, Magallanes, Maragondon, Mendez, Naic, Noveleta, Rosario, Tanza and Ternate, and Cities of Carmona and Cavite City.

Table 3 showed the Types of Deaths registered in the province of Cavite for the month of January 2024. The number of deaths reported for Infant was 67 or         3.05 percent of the total registered deaths. This type of death refers to the death of the infant between 1 day to 1 year of age. However, 27 or 1.23 percent recorded for fetal death. This type of death is considered for the fetus that had intra-uterine life of less than seven months and died within 24 hours after its complete delivery from the maternal womb. No record of death reported for maternal. This type of death defines as the death of a pregnant mother due to complications related to pregnancy.

Furthermore, in terms of type of death, most reported in the province were recorded in Trece Martires City with a total of 17 for Infant and 11 for Fetal.

Moreover, City of Dasmariñas registered the highest number of death with 407, followed by City of Bacoor and City of Imus with 248 and 232 deaths, respectively. The least number of registered deaths were in the municipality of Ternate with a total of eight (8).

SUMMARY

There were 2,198 deaths that were officially reported in the Province of Cavite during the month of January 2024. With 224 more male deaths than female. The City of Dasmariñas had the highest number of deaths reported with 407, while Ternate had the fewest deaths reported with only eight (8). Compared to late registered deaths, timely registered deaths had a high rate of 99 percent. No late registered deaths in two (2) cities and 14 municipalities. No maternal death reported during the month of January 2024.
