This special release presents data on Certificate of Registration of Authority to Solemnize Marriage (CRASM) applications in Cavite. CRASM is the license to officiate wedding ceremonies issued to a Solemnizing Officer (SO) by the Philippine Statistics Authority. The document certifies that the SO is authorized to solemnize marriages within the specified period and territorial jurisdiction indicated thereof. CRASM applications are being filed in the PSA provincial office of their place of assignment.
Figure 1 shows that for the year 2023, PSA Cavite received a total of 385 CRASM applications. Renewal applications accounted for 61.6% or 237, while new applications accounted for 38.4% or 148.
Figure 2 shows that majority of the applications were received in October with a total of 112 applications (24 new and 88 renewal) while the least was received in April with 9 applications (6 new and 3 renewal).
Majority of SOs were assigned in City of Dasmariñas with 72, followed by City of Bacoor, City of Imus and with Silang, with 42 SOs. The least was recorded in General Emilio Aguinaldo and Magallanes with both 1 SO, followed by Kawit, Mendez, and Ternate with 2 SOs each.
Figure 4 shows that male solemnizing officers accounted for 93.2% or 359 while female solemnizing officers accounted for 6.8% or 26.
Among the religious sects, the Roman Catholic Church had the most number of applicants.
Summary
Majority of SO applicants in Cavite were renewal. The month of October recorded the highest number of CRASM applications while the month of April recorded the least. The most common place of assignment of SO applicants was the City of Dasmariñas. Male solemnizing officers outnumbered female solemnizing officers, while Roman Catholic Church provide the most number of applicants.
