This special release provides data on approved building permits that covers all municipalitiesand cities for the construction of residential and non-residential structures, additions/repairs, renovation, and demolitions in the Province of Cavite that occurred during the month of January 2023. Data gathered from approved building permits of various local government offices of the province were generated for the purpose of calculating the national income accounts and estimating the level of construction activity.   The total number of buildings constructed for the month of January 2023 was 1,599. Table 1 shows that among the 23 cities/municipalities, City of Gen. Trias had the most number of buildings built with 422. This was followed by Municipality of Tanza with 281 and cities of Dasmarinas and Imus with 233 constructions each.  Also showed significant numbers of construction were City of Bacoor with127 and Municipality of Naic with 59 constructions. The Municipality of Ternaterecorded the least buildings constructed for the month of January with only one construction. The Municipalities of Noveleta and Gen. E. Aguinaldo also recordedfewer number of projects with 6 and 7 buildings constructed, respectively. As shown in Table 1, City of Imus got the widest floor area with a total of 39,685 sqm. This was followed by City of Gen. Trias with a floor area of 36,656 sqm and Trece Martires City with 35,823 sqm. City of Dasmarinas got the highest value with 999,971. This was followed by City of Imus with a value of 494,068 and City of Gen. Trias with a value of 380,490. Figure 1 shows the percentage distribution of the constructed residential and non- residential building in Cavite for January 2023.Ninety percent or 1,170 of comprised the residential construction while the remaining 10% or 130 were from the non-residential construction.   As shown in Figure 2, majority of buildings built in January 2023 were New Construction of residential/non-residential with 1,599buildings, followed by Additions with 240andAlterations and Repairs with the least number of 59 construction projects.   Table 2 shows that City of Gen. Trias had the most Addition constructions with 80 followed by Cities of Imus and Bacoor with 72 and 28 Addition constructions respectively. Also municipalities of Tanza and Carmona had 25 and 11 additional constructed buildings, respectively. The municipalities of Amadeo, Gen. E. Aguinaldo, Indang, Maragondon, Noveleta, Tagaytay City, Ternate and Gen. M. Alvarez have no reported additional construction projects for the month of January 2023. The City of Gen. Trias recorded the highest area with a total of 4,095sqm for the Floor Area and 28,535 for Value in additional construction in the same month. This was followed by City of Imus with 2,398 sqm and value of 21,383and Municipality of Carmona with 2,025sqm, and a value of 10,286. Table 3 shows the City of Bacoor registered the most Alterations and Repairs with 22 followed by the City of Dasmarinas with 8 and Municipality of Tanza with 6.Also recorded with high numbers of alteration and repairs construction were City of Gen. Trias and Municipality of Carmona with both 5 reports. The Municipalities of Alfonso, Gen. E. Aguinaldo, Indang, Magallanes, Maragondon, Mendez-Nunez,Naic, Noveleta, Rosario,Silang, Tagaytay City, Ternate and Gen M. Alvarez have no recorded alteration. City of Bacoor registered the highest value for construction on Alterations and Repairs with 28,056 as a whole followed by City of Imus and Municipality of Carmona with16,166 and 5,573 respectively.   Summary The total number of buildings under construction in the province for the month of January was 1,599 building 90 percent or 1,170 of them were residential structures. The remaining 10% or 130 were non-residential building. City of Gen. Trias had the most buildings built with 422 buildings while City of Imus got the most number of floor area with a total of 39,685 sqm and a value of 494,068. Municipality of Ternate got the least number of building constructed with one building with floor area of 126sqm and a value of 1200. For the addition of construction, City of Gen. Trias got the highest with 80 while municipalities of Amadeo, Gen. Aguinaldo, Indang, Maragondon, Noveleta, Tagaytay City, Ternate and Gen. M. Alvarez have no recorded addition City of Bacoor got the highest number for alteration and repair construction with 22. On the other hand,municipalities of Alfonso, Gen. E. Aguinaldo, Indang, Magallanes,Maragondon, Mendez- Nunez, Naic, Noveleta, Rosario, Silang, Tagaytay City and Ternate and Gen. M. Alvarez have no recorded alterations. The combined floor area of all building types for January 2023 was 226,101 square meters, with a total investment of PhP 3,338,782.
